I was personally thrilled when the X-Cuff came out because I had been wearing the runners for years, and since I spend so much time in a pool, my toes always bothered me, they were sore when we were doing our shallow end work. So, these do provide great resistance and allow me to wear my shoes at the same time, and no more sore toes! If you're strictly deep water, I'd go for the Runners. Most of my clients in my classes wear the Runners and Cuffs. It is a personal thing. If you wear a closed toe shoe and add X Cuffs, you'll be getting plenty of resistance. The next step up from that would be to add the Runners. That is the maximum resistance that I can offer you besides doubling up on Cuffs with Runners. I wrote an article that is published on my Support Site all about Foot/Leg Resistance. If you'd like to see it, you can read it here:
Sara's Support Site If the link doesn't work for you, copy and paste, you'll get there every time. "http://web.mac.com/sarasaquaticfitness". Individuals who have severe arthritis in their hands can be thrilled about these Cuffs, just slide them on the wrists for some pretty hefty resistance without having to grip a thing. That is great for someone who has to go to great lengths just to exercise normally, there is no normal and I really get a kick out of teaching women with limitations how to work around their limits and get close to a "normal" exercise program. The water offers an infinite ways of doing anything! When it comes to shipping, the options, I am trying to work out the bugs in the computer calculations, but please call if the invoice doesn't look right to you. It should look like this: 1 pair in Priority Rate Envelope, Domestic, Delivery Confirmation (is on everything), this should cost $5.95, each additional if shipped this same way is $5.95. The First Class Option includes the cost of an expensive bubble envelope, but it will still ship First Class (not Parcel Post). If you add additional items, they only cost $1.00 each, then they all go in a box. The option that says Priority Mail Large Box is for shipping up to 5 pairs of XCuffs Flat Rate of $15.95 which is the best you can get, that is $3.00 per pair for shipping only. Here are a pair of X-Cuffs manufactured by the Aqua Jogger company. I am going to include some information at the end which gives you more detail about water exercise (I include the same info in just about all of the listings ).
Designed to be worn with the Aqua Jogger, they enhance your workout by increasing resistance, intensity and workload. The comfortable slip-on design features a unique ventilated shape that increases drag. Tone muscles, enhance cardiovascular capacity and build endurance, without the risk of impact related injury and in the luxurious comfort of water. They come with the an instruction sheet
Now here is most of the information I include in the listing for the Aqua Jogger, provided to you for information purposes only. If you're a runner with an injury, suffering from arthritis, any joint pain, obese, pregnant, a bored athlete, or just love the water, this is a great option for you! My eBay id is sarasaquatics, which really is short for my business name, Sara's Aquatic Fitness and Swimming Instruction. I am a certified personal trainer, water fitness instructor, spent my youth on a swim team, years as on a sychronized swim team, am an avid step aerobics fanatic, weight lifter, and I pulled from all of these experiences to coordinate a one hour class using the Aqua Jogger as the basis. If you are familiar with the trademarked Body Pump Program, my class is like Body Pump in the water. All you need is an aqua jogger a pair of webbed gloves, and maybe a few other water toys, (noodle to sit on, dumb bells) and you've got all you need to turn your pool into a home gym! That 's how I make my living, teaching people how to do this. Deep water running is an awesome experience for somone who has been limited in movement for a variety of reasons. This product is perfect for those who are looking for a new athletic challenge, have arthritis, pregnant, obese, have had joint replacements, fibromyalgia, etc. Sara's Support Site Sara's Water Aerobics Store I do not encourage the purchase of a "kit" where you get all of the equipment in one box. I do not sell them even though the profit margin is higher. The "joggers" in these kits are generic one size fits all, and the "economic" inferior jogger. Additionally, the dumb bells that come with these kits are not to be used all of the time, I use them for about 10 minutes out of a 45 minute class. You get a lot more bang for your buck using webbed gloves for arm exercises, and I have read too many articles on shoulder injuries from chronic use of these aqua dumb bells (I am also a member of the American Aquatic Association and read their journal religously). With the use of gloves, you are mimicking free weights in a gym, except of course you are in the water. If you need any Aqua Jogger product, I can help you with that since I am an Aqua Jogger distributor. I teach at least one class per day, year round, and can address almost any issue that you may have. I will even be so bold as to include a photo of myself since I got so many requests for this. Aquatics is not just a Senior activity...if you're ever in Fort Myers, look me up and jump in my pool for one of my classes. I've done the "country club" circuit which is the "in" thing where I live, and after a few years started my own business so I now teach all of my classes and swimming lessons out of my house. So if I'm not at the computer, I'm in the pool blasting my stereo and yelling at the top of my lungs, or teaching a toddler to swim. If I'm not here, I'm at the beach wind surfing. At age 55, I keep it as intense as it can get, use it or lose it!
